LED lighting for a modern public transport hub

ENTTEC collaborated on lighting the CSW-ASEAN TOD skybridge in Jakarta, Indonesia. This project used ENTTEC’s S-Play controllers, Pixelator Minis, and Storm gateways to control 44 universes of Panasonic RGBW LED wall washers, creating dynamic lighting effects. The installation aimed to draw public attention to the new MRT infrastructure.

Completed in late 2021, CSW-ASEAN TOD is a transit-oriented development (TOD) between several Transjakarta bus stops and the ASEAN MRT station on the old Centrale Stichting Wederopbouw (CSW) intersection at Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Indonesia. The eye-catching light shows adorning its skybridge were the brainchild of local government representatives. The goal was to come up with a concept to draw the interest of the local community to the new MRT infrastructure that the government has invested in to better serve the city.

Solution

Powered by ELM (ENTTEC LED Mapping Software), 8 x Storm10s and 2 x S-Play SP-1

Lights.

Lit up by 44 Universes of Panasonic RGBW LED wall washers

MRT transport is new in Indonesia and off to a great start thanks to combined efforts from PT. Panasonic Gobel Eco Solutions Sales Indonesia, and PT Scienter Teknologi Indonesia heading up the lighting design and supply work.

The project spread 44 Universes worth of Panasonic NNP95480GL RGBW wall washers (approximately 5600 LED pixels) across six canopies to provide the output and number of pixels required to generate dynamic chases throughout the structure.

Control was achieved with 2 x ENTTEC S-Play controllers streaming Art-Net out to 8 x ENTTEC Storms, with the light shows being mapped and programmed into the S-Plays from a computer running the award-winning ELM software with a PRO 96U license. The S-Play’s scheduling functions allowed the team to program the shows to play on set schedules, even accounting for special occasions and holidays.
